The bed bug is a pest that feeds on the blood of humans and other warm-blooded hosts. Its name comes from its most popular habitat: mattresses, sofas, and other different articles of furniture. Although not strictly nocturnal, bed bugs are primarily active in the dark, particularly before dawn with a peak feeding period about an hour before sunrise.
The potential concealing places of bed bugs are carpet edges, pillow case linings, headboards and different little crevices during which they might hide.
Bed bugs come out at night, attracted by the warmth of our bodies and the carbon dioxide in our breath. Which is why they are often found in places where people tend to sleep or rest. They can also be found hiding in cracks and crevices during the day.

These can cause trouble in sleeping to the infested people. Due to the sleep deprivation, people may suffer from different health-related issues and also this can affect the productivity of the people. The bite can form red bumps in our skin and can cause infection due to constant scratching.

They have divided abdomens with microscopic hairs that give them a banded look. Adults grow to 4–5 millimeters long and 1.5–3 millimeters wide.
